Kathleen Reed  Acrylic Painting, mostly landscapes and florals

I have always been creative and interested in artistic endeavors. I began my career way back in 1964 as a Graduate in Art Education from Iowa Wesleyan College and taught Art for several years in Forest City, Iowa. When I went back to school to get the credits to maintain my Education degree I then became interested in Special Education and switched my educational interests at that time. The pressures of family and career channelled me into other directions for quite awhile and so there was nearly a 15 year "lapse" in my painting endeavors. I have been doing digital art and computer generated art for that length of time, putting quite a bit of energy into designing t-shirts and that sort of thing. Now however I have found solace and joy in painting again and am spending MUCH more time painting.
I love to paint, I love mixing the colors and trying to find exactly the right way to express my feelings about the subject that I am painting through the brush strokes and "painterly" effects that I can achieve. So now I guess I have come "full circle" and am back to my first love, painting on canvas.
